Chronic Illness & Fatigue

Chronic illness & fatigue

Support for long-term health issues

When illness affects more than your health

Living with chronic illness, pain or fatigue can affect far more than your physical health. It can change your independence, relationships, work, plans, confidence and sense of who you are.

There may be uncertainty, frustration, grief or fear to deal with, alongside the practical reality of managing symptoms, appointments, changing abilities and other people's expectations.

Therapy gives you somewhere to talk about all of that without needing to minimise it, put a positive spin on it or pretend that things are easier than they are.

We can work with whatever is making life harder now — whether that is coping with uncertainty, adjusting to change, communicating what you need, managing guilt or frustration, changes in relationships, or finding ways to live meaningfully alongside illness.

Chronic illness support

Support that is compassionate and realistic

Support without pressure

You do not have to be getting better for therapy to be worthwhile

Therapy is not about telling you that your symptoms are psychological, asking you to push through them or expecting you to think positively. We can work with the reality of where you are now and what would make life feel more manageable.

Personal understanding

This is an area I understand personally too

Alongside my professional experience, I also bring some personal understanding of chronic illness, including lived experience of EDS and MCAS, and ME/CFS within my family. I will never assume that your experience is the same as mine, but I understand something of the adjustments, uncertainty and impact that long-term illness can bring.
