Exercise is great for mental health, but how much and what is best?

Exercise is great for mental health, but how much and what is best?

What a great question, and one I am often asked.  I would say, you need to do something that you enjoy, or you just won’t stick to it.  This question is of course being researched in detail worldwide, and I remember reading sometime last year, that 150 minutes of regular exercise will reduce your risk of depression by 30%! Now, I confess, I can’t find where I wrote down the reference for this study, but no worries there is a recently published meta-study (a study that collates and judges for rigour lots of other studies) has come up with some interesting answers to what and how much, and it’s summarised for us here.
